PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies dropped Game 2 of the NLCS to the Padres after stealing Game 1. The Phillies held a lead for nearly half of the game, but the Padres rallied in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead and never look back.
San Diego scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Austin Nola got the best of his brother, Aaron, and hit an RBI single off him to start the onslaught of runs.
The series will resume in Philadelphia on Friday at Citizens Bank Park.

Fans ready to rally behind Phillies as they return home with NLCS tied 1-1
It wasn't the way we wanted Game 2 to end, but Phillies fans say they are not worried and they are looking forward to Game 3 at Citizens Bank Park.
Play-by-play of Game 2 against the Padres echoed through Philadium in South Philly.
Fans are disappointed in the loss but say they are still confident in the team's ability to pull through the series which is now tied at 1-1. Adding they are with the Phils in good times and in bad.
"It's ok, we are bringing it home," one Phillies fan said. "We are going to be fine, it's Philly."
Another adds the ups and downs is the "best part of Philly sports."
"It was a great game and that's the best part of Philly sports. It's always back and forth and up and down, we're underdogs," the fan said.
Many people tell CBS3 they were on the edge of their seats throughout the game.

"My heart rate has been like up and down, up and down, up and down. It's been a wild ride and I think we are going to get to the end," another fan added.
The Phils will be leaving the enemy territory and will play Games 3, 4 and 5 at Citizens Bank Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans are ready to fuel them to victory, reminding us "it's been 11 years" and this city is "ready to see some success at home."
First pitch for Game 3 is Friday at 7:37 p.m.
Aaron Nola not happy postgame
CBS3's Pat Gallen caught up with Phillies ace Aaron Nola after the team's 8-5 loss to the Padres in Game 2 of the NLCS.
When asked about a particular pitch he'd like to give back, he said: "All the ones I gave up runs on."
Nola said he's forward to getting back to Philadelphia for three straight games, and I'm sure the rest of the Phillies are too.
Nola pitched 4 and ⅔ innings , allowed seven hits and six earned runs. He also struck out six Padres.

Phillies lose to Padres in Game 2 of NLCS
The Phillies lost to the Padres, 8-5, in Game 2 of the NLCS on Wednesday night in San Diego. The series is now tied 1-1 and will resume in Philadelphia on Friday at Citizens Bank Park.

Rhys Hoskins responded for the Phillies with a solo shot of his own in the bottom of the eight inning, but it wasn't enough.
The Phillies jumped out to an early lead thanks to a four-run bottom of the second.
Bryce Harper had two hits and scored a run during the bottom of the second during the Phillies' rally.
Nick Castellanos, Alec Bohm and Matt Vierling also scored runs during that inning.

After Machado's homer in the bottom of the seventh, Rhys Hoskins answered back.
Hoskins hit a 409 foot shot to left field to make it, 8-5, Padres in the top of the eighth inning.
Maybe the Phillies have a late game rally in him? We'll see.
Manny Machado hits HR
The Padres added to their lead in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Manny Machado hit a 424 foot home run to extend San Diego's lead to 8-4.
The homer was Machado's second of the game. He doubled in the bottom of the first.
Padres retake lead in NLCS against Phillies
The Padres took the lead, 7-4, in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Phillies.
Brandon Durry singled off Brad Hand to knock in two runs. Hand replaced Aaron Nola after he allowed two runs at the start of the inning.
Nola's brother, Austin, hit an RBI single off him to knock in Ha-Seong Kim.
Josh Bell also had an RBI single.

It's a tough day to be a part of the Nola family as brothers Aaron and Austin face off in Game 2 of the NLCS. Austin Nola got the best of his little brother in the bottom of the 5th inning with an RBI single to put the Padres within 1.
As for their parents, it seems Mr. Nola wasn't sure how to react.
Padres answer back
Right after the Phillies took an early lead, the Padres answered with two home runs.
Brandon Drury and Josh Bell each went yard to cut the lead to 4-2, Phillies.
Aaron Nola eventually got out of the inning by getting the next three batters out, including his brother Austin.
Phillies strike first against Padres
The Phillies struck first in Game 2 of the NLCS and lead the Padres, 4-0.
Alec Bohm knocked in Bryce Harper on a single to right field to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
Harper started the inning off with a single of his own, and Nick Castellanos followed the reining NL MVP up by hitting a blooper into right field.
Matt Vierling then doubled to deep right to knock in Castellanos and Edmundo Sosa singled to get Bohm home.
Kyle Schwarber grounded out to first, but Vierling was able to score on the play.

MLB The Show predicts Padres will win Game 2
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It seems MLB The Show hit it on the nail with their prediction of Game 1. The Phils beat the Padres, 2-0 on Tuesday night.
However, the Game 2 prediction isn't looking so great for the Phillies. According to the NLCS simulation, there's a 51% chance the Padres will win Game 2.
On the bright side, the Phillies are predicted to advance to the World Series.
MLB The Show says the winner of each series is based on 100 simulations per game.

Nola brothers to face off in Game 2
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS) – Here's something you don't see every day. Two brothers will be facing off when these two teams play tonight.
Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola will be directly competing against his brother Austin Nola, a catcher for the Padres.
They are just the sixth pair of brothers to face each other in the postseason and the first since 1997 when Sandy and Roberto Alomar faced each other.
